Meet Dr. Matthew Callan

Dr. Callan’s early years were divided between Utah, Nebraska and Washington. He attended Creighton University, graduating with his dental degree in 2006. Prior to this, he earned his Art History and Humanities degree at Brigham Young University. Dr. Callan then completed a one-year Oral and Maxillofacial Residency and medical training at the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY). He completed his medical training, receiving his medical degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine in 2010. He completed a one year internship in General Surgery with rotations in trauma and vascular surgery in 2011. He continued with his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, graduating in 2013. Dr. Callan joined Peninsula Oral Surgery as an associate in 2014, later purchasing the practice in 2016. Dr. Callan is a member of the Washington State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the Washington State Dental Association and American Dental Association. He is an active staff member with Harrison Hospital. 

Dr. Callan enjoys being an active participant in the Kitsap Peninsula community where he and his wife are raising their five boys. When not involved in oral surgery, Dr. Callan enjoys outdoor activities, acoustic guitar, spending time with his family, supporting his children’s sporting and music involvement and volunteering with the local Boy Scouts and church activities. Dr. Callan speaks Russian as a second language.
